Why the Planning Committee were wrong on housing density

The immediately adjacent houses to the proposed site (112 Copnor Road), that is the East side of Copnor Road, all have a construction density of around 66 dph (66 housing units per hectare), they are 2 storey and all have a height of below 7.75 metres.

3 blocks of East Side Copnor Road Frontage North of the Site.

The original plans were for three bedroom 3 storey units each 8.7 metres nigh and a construction density of 88dph (33%more dense).

The nearest construction of the same dimensions, unit density and height as the proposed plan is to be found on West Side Copnot Road and this is shown below. Clearly not typical of the adjacent buildings surrounding the site on East Side Copnor Road.
